Kinsley Castro

Employee/Resident Clinician

Kinsley (she/her) specializes in working with children aged three and up, addressing a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, peer relationships, self-esteem, ADHD, gender identity, gender expression, effective communication, and family conflict. She is passionate about working with children and began her training in play therapy during graduate school. Kinsley has also received additional training in group therapy, sandtray therapy, and restorative practices, and she is under the supervision of a licensed Registered Play Therapist Supervisor.

As a therapist, Kinsley uses a child-focused approach to play therapy that highlights the child's inherent value, strengths, self-expression, and goals. She adopts a Neurodiversity-affirming and collaborative framework, working closely with youth and their caregivers to develop meaningful solutions to everyday challenges. Kinsley incorporates mindfulness-based and expressive activities in her sessions to ensure therapy is enjoyable and meaningful for both the child and their family. She has a particular passion for working with LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent youth.

Kinsley identifies as Queer and Neurodiverse, embracing a sense of childlike wonder to create a warm and inviting space for youth. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside with her partner and yellow lab, being in water, baking, crafting, and blowing bubbles. Kinsley completed her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marian University in 2024.
