Play Therapy for the individual youth or adult
Individual Therapy
We offer individual therapy for children and adolescents ages 3 and up. While confidentiality and therapeutic rapport is vital, this always includes parents in some capacity, particularly the younger the client is. See below for various types of play, which can include both directive and nondirective approaches, imaginative play, sandtray, metaphorical, creative play and more.
Play Therapy
Imaginative Play (dolls, barbies, dress up, house/kitchen, puppets)
Sandtray (acts as a metaphor which means kids can share in a nonverbal and less intimidating manner)
Creative expression - art, crafts, play doh, movement, narrative or journaling
Theraplay - a prescribed directive protocol involving caregiver and child using simple but very purposeful and intentional play
Bibliotherapy - using books as a tool to connect and share information
Narrative therapy - kids sharing their story through their chosen means
Digital - seriously! In this digital age, there can be a lot of value in telehealth play or even showing unconditional positive regard for a client who is excited to share about their digital world
And more!
